You can delete your Deyra account, and everything attached to it, without asking anyone's permission and without explaining yourself. There are two ways to do it.
From the app — takes effect immediately
- Open Deyra and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Scroll to Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account is gone before the screen closes.
There is no waiting period, no cooling-off window and no way to undo it. If you want a copy of your data, use Settings → Request my data before you delete, because afterwards there is nothing left to send you.
By email — if you cannot sign in
Write to support@deyra.net from the email address on the account, with the subject Account deletion request. We reply within 30 days, and in practice much sooner. If we cannot match the address to an account we will ask you one question to confirm it is yours — we will never ask for your password.
What is deleted
- Your login — email address and password.
- Your profile — name, username, age, gender, bio and social links.
- Your photo, removed from storage.
- Your location — the single most recent point we held.
- Your messages and conversations, on both sides of every chat.
- Your waves and matches.
- Your blocks, and the blocks other people placed on you.
- Your notification tokens, so your device stops receiving anything.
- Any data export you had generated and not yet downloaded.
- Reports you filed, and reports filed about you.
This is not a hidden or deactivated account. The rows are removed from our database, so the username becomes available again and nobody can look you up.
What is kept, and why
Nothing that identifies you. The only trace left is the ordinary server log our hosting provider writes for every request, which may contain an IP address. We do not control its contents, we do not read it to profile anyone, and it is rotated away automatically after a few days. It cannot be used to contact you, to show you to anyone, or to rebuild your profile.
Deleting the app is not the same thing
Removing Deyra from your phone stops the app from running, but your account continues to exist. Use one of the two routes above if you want it gone.
